After October 7, 2023, the Palestinian prisoner movement faced a long series of war crimes and crimes against humanity like never before in its detention history. The occupation army conducted extensive arrest campaigns in the West Bank, affecting more than 15,000 citizens, including children, the elderly, and the sick, with over 3,500 subjected to arbitrary administrative detention.
Some were released after being tortured and abused. Thousands of Gazans were also arrested and subjected to the most horrific forms of physical and psychological torture, being placed in secret detention camps.
War crimes and crimes against humanity do not lapse over time, and thus, the Palestinian people and their human rights institutions, along with all the free people of the world, will continue their legal battle to pursue Israeli war criminals before international courts.
