Today, I visited Damon Prison in the upper Carmel Mountains to meet with prisoner Ibaa Ammar Marouf Agbar (born 28 May 2002), from Rafidia/Nablus.
When she told me her date of birth, I asked her about celebrations inside the prison, and she eagerly told me, with a hint of sadness, about the birthday cake: bread + milk + strawberries.
She began by telling me about her cellmates in Cell No. 11 (Maysar Haddibat/Yatta/Hebron), Iman Shuamra/Hebron/Ghit, Lin Misk (Hebron), Rama Balawi (Kfar Labad/Tulkarm), 40 female prisoners (including four employees of the Gulf Bank).
She told me the details of her arrest: on the night of 16 March 2025, at 3:30 a.m., soldiers, accompanied by a female soldier, raided the house and, after a thorough search, took her away in handcuffs and blindfolded, to Hawara or Ariel, where they beat and kicked her the whole time, and from there to the despicable Hasharon prison, where they subjected her to a humiliating search, and from there to Damon prison.
The conditions in Damon Prison are extremely poor. She described to me the tragic events of 13 May. The food is terrible, and the situation for pregnant women is difficult. There are two breaks, each lasting one hour, and talking is forbidden during the breaks. Anyone who talks is isolated.
I miss university (I am a fifth-year PhD student in pharmacy, and I have to do a second year of training).
She asked for very moving messages to be delivered to her family, one by one, mentioning her parents, her brothers, her aunt and her aunts, her uncles and her uncles, her grandmother Raja/Um Shadi and her cooking.
I miss everyone so much. ‘I wish I could celebrate Eid with them. I want them to enjoy Eid and drink the coffee they've been craving since they were locked up.’
She asked me to deliver messages to her family, her friends Shayma, Tala and Nour, and the family of Lin Misk.
When we parted, she suddenly said, ‘Take care, Professor. Tell my family that their daughter is strong and brave... don't worry.’
My dearest, I send you my warmest regards, and I wish freedom for you and all prisoners of freedom.

"بنتكم قويّة وجدعة...تقلقوش "
زرت ظهر اليوم سجن الدامون في أعالي الكرمل السليب لألتقي بالأسيرة إباء عمار معروف أغبر (مواليد 28.05.2002)، من رفيديا/ نابلس.
حين أخبرتني بتاريخ ميلادها سألتها عن الاحتفال داخل السجن فأخبرتني بلهفة معجونة بحسرة عن كعكة العيد؛ خبز + لبن + تطلي (فراولة).
حدّثتني بدايةً عن زميلات الزنزانة رقم 11 (ميسّر هديبات/ يطا/الخليل)، إيمان شوامرة/ الخليل/غيت، لين مِسك (الخليل)، رماء بلوي (كفر لبد/ طولكرم)، 40 أسيرة (يشمل 4 موظّفات شركة مصرف الخليج).
حدّثتني بتفاصيل الاعتقال؛ ليلة 16.03.2025، الساعة ثلاثة ونص الفجر، داهم الجنود، برفقة مجنّدة، البيت، وبعد تفتيش دقيق اقتادوها مكلبشة وضمّادة على عينيها، إلى حوارة أو أريئيل، مسبّات وكبّ ميّة كل الوقت، ومنه إلى سجن هشارون البغيض، وقاموا بتفتيش مُهين، ومنه إلى سجن الدامون.
الوضع في سجن الدامون سيئ للغاية، وصفت لي قمعة 13 أيار المشؤومة، الأكل سيئ للغاية، ووضع الحوامل زهراء ورماء صعب، صار فورتين، كل فورة ساعة، وممنوع الحكي خلال الفورة، واللي بتحكي بعزلوها.
مشتاقة للجامعة (طالبة دكتوراه صيدلة، سنة خامسة، وراحت عليها تدريب سنة ثانية).
طلبت إيصال رسائل مؤثّرة جداً للعائلة، فرداً فرداً، وخصّت بالذكر والداها، وإخوتها، وعمتها وخالاتها، أعمامها وأخوالها، والتيتا رجاء/ أم شادي وطبخاتها.
كثير مشتاقة للكل "وكنت أتمنى العيد معهم، وبدّي ينبسطوا بالعيد، ويشربوا النيس كافيه اللي قطعوا من يوم الحبسة".
طلبت إيصال رسائل لأهل لين مِسك ولأهل ريماء وصديقاتها شيماء وتالا ونور.
حين افترقنا قالت فجأة: "وحياتك أستاذ، خبّر أهلي: بنتكم قويّة وجدعة...تقلقوش".
